On May 25^th of 2004 Moroccan Restaurateur Toufiq Lahlou created an authentic Moroccan restaurant in the heart of French Saint Martin. Le Marrakech, set in an early 1900 Creole House, is one of Saint Martin's historic homes. Now newly renovated based on the design of a famous Moroccan architect, it gives the experience of being in Moroccan North Africa. All of the fixtures for the restaurant were imported by Toufiq from Fes, Casablanca, and Marrakech. Moroccan Sofas, Mosaic Tables, Paintings, Chandeliers, Candles, Drapes, and Dinnerware make the inside dining rooms a festival of art and colors.
Its outside dining areas include an open exotic garden with a ceiling of stars and a Sultan's tent perfect for lounging with cocktails or mint tea. Moroccan food is all about flavors and spices, but "Not spicy!". The specialties are Kebabs, Couscous, Tajines, Pastillas, hand made Pastries, mint tea, and a large selection of Moroccan Spirits. The signature dish is Tajine "Stew" Lamb with Prunes Honey Ginger sauce and Caramelized Almonds with Cinnamon. You don't need to be a food connoisseur to come try it! Be an adventurer for an ultimate experience!
The restaurant generally closes for annual vacation summer in June and July.
